Land of Sky Regional Council is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Workforce Equity Advocate. Under general direction and supervision of the Strategic Initiatives Director, the Workforce Equity Advocate oversees the administration and project delivery of the Accelerate Buncombe project funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) through the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and Inclusive Hiring Partners. This position assists individuals with barriers to employment connect with employers to achieve long-term success in high-wage careers.

GO PLACES Project Director

Position - Full time with benefits

Land of Sky Regional Council is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a GO PLACES Project Director. Under general direction and supervision of the Strategic Initiatives Director, the Growth Opportunities: Peer Leaders Accessing Community and Employment Success (GO PLACES) Project Director oversees the administration and project delivery of the GO PLACES project funded by the US Department of Labor through the Education and Training Administration. Grant parameters mandated two-state participation as a requirement of a successful application – the GO PLACES project targets high crime and poverty in specific areas of both the City of Asheville and cities/counties in Eastern Tennessee. The Project Director works to develop violence prevention strategies and build economic opportunity for youth ages 16 – 24 and will provide administrative leadership of the activities in both states.

The Energy Program Manager coordinates energy and environmental sustainability technical assistance, on-site assessments, and planning consultations for business, industries, and public institutions; supervises 6 - 15 stipended volunteer engineers, scientists, architects, and business professionals; oversees technical report development and quality programs for volunteers; delivers technical presentations to clients; assists with training seminars (internal and external); and helps lead program development functions and funding acquisition activities, grant management, and marketing in conjunction with WRP management team. Transportation Demand Management Coordinator / Regional Planner

Land of Sky Regional Council is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Transportation Demand Management Coordinator / Regional Planner. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program and associated marketing and outreach activities; performs other job related duties, as required. The TDM Program Coordinator is responsible for the outreach efforts to promote alternative transportation programs to employers in the region and will lead marketing efforts of the rideshare, vanpool and other TDM programs. The incumbent monitors the effectiveness of the marketing and outreach programs. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this classification establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with participant company representatives, Federal, State and Local representatives, the general public and other agency employees.

Digital Navigator

Position - Part-time limited $20 per hour contract
Closing Date - First Review June 6, 2022

Land of Sky Regional Council’s WestNGN program seeks to contract for a Digital Navigator to help close the digital divide in Buncombe County. The Digital Navigator acts as a resource for individuals or small groups regarding connectivity services information, devices, and foundational digital skills to enable people to become effective internet users. The navigator will work in person and remotely to provide this assistance, depending on what works for each learner. This position is a key component in brining connectivity to citizens and addressing equity issues in Buncombe County. 

WestNGN Digital Navigator contract is a part-time limited $20 per hour contract. Work will vary from creating courses based on specific skills (ex. ZOOM usage, basic computer skills, google suite, etc) and working directly one-on-one with individuals.
