Professional Experience

Eight years at Biltmore Estate as Special Events Manager; Two and a half years as RSVP Coordinator with Volunteer Services at LOSRC; One and a half years as Youth Counselor with Workforce Development at LOSRC; Senior Companion Program Manager 2012 - present.

Responsibilities

  • Plans marketing strategies and promotes the Senior Companion Program to recruit volunteers
  • Works closely with providers of services to senior adults to match volunteers to clients
  • Collaborates with local organizations to develop relationships and memorandums of understanding
  • Interviews/hires/trains volunteers
  • Provides ongoing training to program participants on issues facing seniors (health and wellness, dementia, Alzheimer’s, other chronic health issues, socialization, etc.)
  • Manages grant funds to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance and problem resolution for situations that may arise with a volunteer
  • Maintains up-to-date individual files to include physicals, income reviews, care plans and general information
  • Organizes recognition events for program participants
  • Maintains information in database system on participants’ individual dates, skills, placements, etc.
