Western Carolina Community Action (WCCA)
Rental Assistance
This service is for very low income families and
individuals. Unlike public housing, the Section 8 Rental
Assistance Program allows recipients to choose the unit in
which they wish to live. Once that is done, WCCA inspects
the unit to assure it meets minimum housing quality
standards and then contracts with the landlord to pay a
portion of the rent for the client. The program serves both
Henderson and Transylvania Counties.

Weatherization Program

renters, are assessed to learn what is needed to make the

works with the homeowner to make the improvements necessary.

work, such as painting.
