our community older people and their families are facing the
challenge of finding accessible and affordable long-term
care services. This directory is designed to help them in
their search. It provides up-to-date information on
services available in our community and their costs. This
information is subject to change and is listed with that
understanding.
Many citizens are unaware of the great variety of social and
health services that are available for older adults. Until
sudden illness or chronic disability forces us to seek them
out, we may not be familiar with the opportunities for
service that exist in our communities. This directory
offers a place to start the search for long-term care
services, and gives older citizens and their families a
chance to plan for their present and future needs. The
different types of long term care residential settings are
discussed to assist you in identifying the kind of care you
need.
This directory was developed by the Land-of-Sky Regional
Council Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman Program. To
